Given the current health crisis, we all look for activities at home to entertain ourselves and spend the time in the best possible way.
At Bodegas MITOS, we wanted to help you pass this quarantine in a more enjoyable way and that is why we have organized “La Semana de la Telecata”.
Every day of the week, we organize a different tasting, dividing the 5 days between the most common grape varieties that everyone usually has at home. Thus, each person could choose the wine that was closest to hand, from the winery that was, and participate in this fun activity.
The first day, we started the tasting with white wines. Chardonnay, Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc… each one brought the wine they had at home! We learned a lot about each of these varieties thanks to the explanations given by our colleague Mario Lizán, Export Manager at Bodegas MITOS.
On Tuesday, we started our learning about red wines: Cabernet, Merlot, Bobal and Tempranillo. Isabel Quiles, Sales & Marketing Manager at Bodegas MITOS, guided us through the different phases of the tasting, as well as talking about Bobal, a native grape from her area (Utiel-Requena).
The next day we continued learning about other varieties of red: Syrah, Garnacha and Monastrell. It was very inspiring to see the differences we found with the grapes we tasted the day before.
On Thursday they told us about the aging in barrels that is carried out in some wines, such as Crianza or Reserva. We were able to check its effect on different varieties and learn from each other thanks to the contributions of all the participants.
To finish, on Friday we toast with sparkling wines. We all chose Cava, and we also learned about the history of Cava requenense.
It was a great experience and we had a great time!
We invite you to be attentive to our social networks (Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin), because very soon we will organize more.
